Fairly trouble free first night: power and Firewire lights are FAR too bright, unbelievably so; need a program with more simultaneous inputs, 8 into Garageband is not enough really; weird activity with Firewire into the desk, when playing iTunes from the Mac through the desk to the PA, after a while the audio is distorted and we have to turn the desk off and on the fix it.
On the plus side, the multi-channel magic is great (as can be seen here) we were able to play back a recording over the PA and turn off or on each track individually - much fun.
The only downside (for you listeners) is that the process or making it available on the site for download and play is now more complicated. Due to it being recording multitrack we have to fix the levels and whatnot before releasing it - which could take a few days.
So expect to see last night's Open Mic up some time soon and come down to listen to Sarah Saville tonight and see the desk in action.
